Know who the pharmacy is, what authority it operates under, what exact product it supplies, how the medication is labeled and shipped, and how quality concerns or recalls are communicated. The pharmacy is part of the clinic’s governance system — not just a vendor.
Is the pharmacy appropriately licensed? If sterile compounded products ship into Florida, what Florida permit applies? Is it a state-licensed pharmacy or a registered §503B outsourcing facility? What exact product and concentration are supplied? How is refrigerated medication shipped and what happens if temperature control is lost? How are recalls communicated and lots verified? Is the medication patient-specific where required?
Your pharmacy is part of the clinic’s governance system. Document the relationship and confirm it with counsel and your supervising physician.
