Some governance work can be done remotely, but the requirements depend on the clinic. For a brick-and-mortar practice, remote governance should not mean no knowledge of the site.
Clinical governance reviewed by Armando A Falcon, MD (FL ME 84789) · Florida regulatory framework reviewed August 2026.
Some governance work can be performed remotely, but the applicable legal and operational requirements depend on the clinic. For a brick-and-mortar clinic, remote governance should not mean the physician has no knowledge of the physical practice — and for licensed Health Care Clinics, specific survey-attendance requirements still apply in person.
An initial facility assessment, remote governance when appropriate, on-site visits when needed, and in-person participation for AHCA survey requirements where applicable.
Remote is a method for much of the ongoing work — not a way to govern a clinic the physician has never actually seen or understood.
