For Florida AHCA-licensed Health Care Clinics, Rule 59A-33.013 limits the number and geographic spread of clinics one Medical or Clinic Director may supervise. Current AHCA survey enforcement describes a maximum of five clinics, a cumulative limit of 200 employees or persons under contract, and a 200-mile inter-clinic limit.
As reflected in current AHCA survey materials: up to five licensed Health Care Clinics, no more than 200 combined employees/contracted persons, and no more than 200 miles between the clinics one director supervises.
Those Health Care Clinic limits should not be assumed to be the statutory cap for every non-AHCA physician-governance engagement. Outside the licensed-clinic framework, the practical limit depends on the services, risk, and how hands-on the oversight must be.
