It depends on the clinic’s regulatory and professional structure. An AHCA-licensed Health Care Clinic must appoint a Medical or Clinic Director. Other brick-and-mortar peptide or wellness practices may operate under a different structure, but still need clear responsibility for patient evaluation, prescribing, treatment oversight, provider roles, escalation, and patient safety.

What questions should a peptide clinic owner ask?
Is the practice AHCA-licensed? Who is the prescriber? Who is responsible for clinical governance? Who reviews new treatments before they’re added? Who handles escalations? Who reviews quality and documentation?
Does having a prescriber mean the clinic already has governance?
“We have a prescriber, so we already have governance.” Prescribing one patient’s medication and governing an entire clinic are not the same function. A prescriber writes orders; a Medical Director owns the clinical structure.
Owner takeaway
The clinic should be able to name who is responsible for the medical structure — not just who signs prescriptions. AHCA licensure/exemption stays with your AHCA consultant.
