What should an owner ask before keeping testosterone onsite?
Who purchased/received the medication? Is it patient-specific? Is the clinic administering it or dispensing it for take-home use? Who has access? Is controlled-substance inventory maintained, and how are receipts, disposition, and expired products tracked? How is storage monitored, and what happens if a vial is lost or unaccounted for?
Owner takeaway
Before ordering testosterone “for stock,” define the legal and operational medication pathway — including Schedule III custody and records. Confirm dispensing-practitioner requirements (§465.0276) with counsel if you dispense.
