Know who is making the product, under what authority, what exact formulation is supplied, how it is shipped and labeled, and how recalls or quality concerns are handled. What should an HRT or TRT clinic ask a compounding pharmacy?
Is the pharmacy appropriately licensed? Is sterile compounding involved? Is controlled-substance compounding involved? What exact formulation is being made, and is the prescription patient-specific where required? How is the product shipped and how is lot/batch information tracked? What is the recall process, and what happens when a formulation changes?
